Next Saturday, the 8th, architect and lighting designer Diana Del-Negro will lead a guided tour of the MACAM Museum, presenting the architectural and museographic lighting project developed for the space.

The visit will offer an opportunity to explore how light guides the exhibition journey and transforms the perception of artworks, revealing subtleties invisible under natural light.

The project, the result of many hours of study and technical refinement, sought to determine the ideal positioning of light sources to enhance paintings and sculptures by masters such as Almada Negreiros, José Malhoa, and Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso.

More than illuminating, the aim was to create a visual narrative, guided by distinct colour temperatures that evolve gently throughout the galleries, following the historical periods represented in the collections. Through it, the visitor is led on a sensory and temporal journey, where light becomes the mediator between art and perception.
